Richnew41I have not seen any topics on this subject and I'm just curious what others do... I'm curious as I've seen quite a number of posted engine bay images that look just "filthy".

Personally, I wash my entire engine bay with great results using Chemical Guys "All Clean" then dry with a air blower, followed by Chemical Guys Silk shine... Looks like showroom new when done with zero issues to the Prowler. I do cover the alternator and cold air intake filter.

So do you wash or leave it be???

Just curious...

padrooMy wife does all the cleaning on our Prowler. She is OCD when it comes to cleaning and doesn't like to use any water if she can get away with it. Mostly just dust, no grease or oil that I have ever seen and never any drips on the garage floor to mark it's territory. LOL
robincover up that valuable ECM...

BeWareOur engine compartment is a little dusty right now but that is about as bad as it ever gets. Every time I wash the car I clean the engine but only with a damp rag. I have never spayed water into the engine compartment. I don't plan on cleaning it until after it comes back from the body shop getting the rear fender repaired and the nose repainted.
garysssI usually just wipe it down with damp cloth when I wash car, But if I drove in Heavy rain like usually happens on Prowler Event, I will clean with soap and water and hose it off.
mslc10It was filthy when I bought it. I pressure washed it and it came out very nice, with all decals. Usually just wipe it down now unless I get caught in the rain
Landscape DoctorUsually wash the engine bay once a year. I never use a pressure washer in the engine bay, just use wash and wax with a sponge and a garden hose. Also try to stay away from all major electrical components.
JeraneWAfter 15 years, never cleaned engine bay and still looked very presentable. Of course my eye sight isn't that good now.
